E. H. Burrell Company was founded by Edward Hobbs (E. H.) Burrell in Salem, Oregon in 1918. Burrell sold Willard brand batteries from a shop on Court Street. By 1923 the company had expanded to include three employees and moved to High Street. The High Street location was part of the Senator Hotel block and now is the local transit station
As business expanded, E. H. Burrell Company moved to a larger space at 474 High Street during 1927 and then to 565 High street in 1946. The company remained at that location until its move to a new modern facility at 2255 McGilchrist Street during 1987.
E.H. Burrell Company was purchased from a third generation Burrell family member in 1995 by Curtis Schott, a long time employee. E.H. Burrell Company now has over 35 employees with 3 locations. E.H. Burrell Company currently serves Western Oregon and Southwest Washington. Customers range from Logging Companies, Sand & Gravel Businesses, Trucking Companies, Waste Management Companies to the local Farming and Industrial Industries. E.H. Burrell is still a family run business with extended family members working in various aspects of the Company.
